Report Details

This was the first day after the big rains. It wasn't sunny, but people were just happy to be out without heavy rain. Probably due to the storms, there were many dead birds and jellyfish on the beach.

Conditions

Temperature: 50 F. Cloud Cover: Cloudy. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Tide Level: 5 feet.

Human Activities

Number of people: 15. Number of dogs: 5. Walking or running: 15. Other Activities: Everyone was walking on the beach or walking their dogs on the beach.. It was a weekend, so even with the cloudy weather there were a lot of people and dogs on the beach.

Notable Wildlife

I only remember seeing seagulls.

Beached Birds

Total dead birds: 10. There were many dead birds. It was after that first week of big storms and rain. I am only including the one with the blue bands on it. I didn't see any other leg bands or markings.

Dead Fish or Invertebrates

Dead sea lion

Driftline Content

Lots of jellyfish

New Development

I didn't see any new development, but this stretch does have 4 staircases down to the beach. Two are private. Two lead up to hotels. I wonder how much these affect the beach?
