Thousands (or more) velella velella in the wrack line and all over the beach. VV's are also called by-the-wind-sailors, a free floating hydrozoan. Lots of wind today and just a few people.

I did not walk the entire length of my adopted mile, but had an enjoyable hour-long outing on my beach, which is from Davis Park to the north jetty in Newport.
