The beach was smooth with little rock from north to south and bluff to surf edge with a gradient of about 1 foot drop for 20 feet of run at the north end and 1 for 18 at Wandemere.

The beach was smooth with little rock from north to south and bluff to surf edge with a gradient of about 1 foot drop for 20 feet of run at the north end and 1 for 18 at Wandemere. Considerable heavy brown dead plankton scum was present in the Wandemere area.
