Today was one of the two lowest tides of 2026, a great day to see this rocky beach and all its tidepools.

Today was one of the two lowest tides of 2026, a great day to see this rocky beach and all its tidepools. So unusual to see the backside of the rock formations. Happy to find a healthy shoreline population of invertebrates, a seal pup checking me out from the surf, even a blue heron looking for a morning meal. No pelicans here, but many roosting on the cliffside at Seal Rock next door.

Temperature: 56 F. Cloud Cover: Cloudy. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Tide Level: -1.1 feet.

Other Activities: Litter looked to be left over from July 4th bonfire and fireworks. Collected in a fire pit near beach entrance (photo)..
