Report Details

It was a wonderful sunny lst day of summer. A bit too chilly to sit on the beach. The beach was especially wide, flat, and clean. The high tide had recently been all the way to the bluff so the sand was not soft and there were only a very few very small "dunes".It was an easy and very pretty walk. And it was fun to see so many others walking and enjoying the day.

By the time I got to Driftwood Wayside, a lot of people had already arrived for their New Years Day beach walks, some 30 vehicles in the parking lot and 30 - 40 people down on the beach, accompanied by at least half as many dogs, almost all leashed.
