Stranded Marine Mammals
On Friday 08/13 afternoon north of the beach entry 1/4 mile Idid observe the remains of a Harbor Seal the tail (25% of seal)I did not have my camera with me but appeared to have been severed evenlyit was in the tide wash which was thick with sea weed, driftwood, and debris

It was a minus tide this cloudy morning and I could see a large group of pelicans off in the distance at Alsea Bay.

I was anxious to visit Mile 200 this week to see if there were tar deposits or any struggling birds due to the reported tar substance washing up on Oregon beaches.
