This is my first walk and report since losing my canine companion, Westly, over a year ago. The only important observation in this report is tire tracks from illegal driving on the beach.

This is my first walk and report since losing my canine companion, Westly, over a year ago. Now I am back with my new companion, Weston. I walk 2 miles, north and back. Counts are for only one direction to avoid repeats. The only important observation in this report is tire tracks from illegal driving on the beach.
Conditions
Temperature: 65 F. Cloud Cover: Partly Cloudy. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Tide Level: 1.8 feet.
Human Activities
Number of people: 21. Number of dogs: 3. Walking or running: 20. Sitting: 1. Only vehicle tracks seen.
Concerns
People/dogs/vehicles in closure areas
Apparent violations: Tire tracks were seen on the beach, even though it is posted for no vehicles (see photo). I have seen and reported this before. Another person has told me that a couple drives onto the beach from a campground..Vehicles

Walking north oh Wayside Lodge I saw 15 or so dead Black Turnstone. That was the only species of bird that was dead. Lots of plastic bottles that I picked up.

Walking mile 195 has resumed, now that steps from the 804 trail to the beach, in the middle of the mile, are back up.
