We only had time for a short stop and I had the chance to tell a new friend (and new Coast Watcher) about the Harbor Seals on the rocks below. We sat on the upper steps for a little protection from the cool north wind and ate our lunch. When out of that big blue ocean, just a short distance from the seal covered rocks was a Gray Whale..... back, blow, fluk and even the slick area on the surface. We watched it for at least 30 min. and it preformed like welcoming a new person to it's home. I took many photos in hopes that I might get just one or two to share with another nature lover that is very ill and not able to make it to this place anymore. The whale continued to do what whales do, so I could share this day with a new friend and one that will not be with us much longer. Thanks for the memories at Strawberry Hill Gray Whale.

A very low tide is the best time to visit Strawberry Hill because that is when many hundreds of sea stars and green anemones are visible.
