A new sighting for us of a Brush Rabbit near the parking lot at Stonefield, which is all filled in with debris from storms.

A new sighting for us of a Brush Rabbit near the parking lot at Stonefield, which is all filled in with debris from storms. On the Tokatee Kloochman side, a lady found what looked to be a fossilized tooth, hollow underneath and molar looking on top. It was about 3/4" across and 1" deep. Beach is mostly rocks this time of year so several people poking around in them. Red Winged Blackbird is new to our bird list.

Temperature: 57 F. Cloud Cover: Cloudy. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Wind Direction: S. Tide Level: 1.0 feet.
Human Activities
Number of people: 12. Walking or running: 5. one lady found what looked to be a fossilized molar, 1" deep by 3/4" across.

One Brush Rabbit near the parking lot. New for us. 17 Pelicans, 2 Great Blue Heron, 7 Turnstones, 4 Harlequin Ducks, 6 Pelagic Cormorants, 6 Double Crested Cormorants, 30 Scoters, 1 Song Sparrow, 1 Red Winged Blackbird, Gulls and Crows. 10 Harbor Seals.
Beached Birds
Total dead birds: 1. scoter
Driftline Content
Ocean-based debris (from fishing boats, ship trash, etc.). quite a few bits of rope up on the rocks

When we arrived in the parking lot it was almost full but people seemed to be leaving.

It was a lovely day but the sand is gone from all but the first part of the beach so the rest is cobbles, making it hard to walk.

The day was very foggy so we didn't expect to see many birds but were very surprised to see 18 species, which has only happened two other times since 2003.

A sunny, very windy day that brought out a lot of people to enjoy the beach, mostly staying in the first sandy area.

It was a beautiful clear day and the wind only started up about 3 in the afternoon.

Florence had some rain but when we got to the mile it was just overcast and kept getting brighter.
