Mile 184 - N of Ocean Beach Picnic Area, S of Squaw Creek - May 25, 2015

Report Details

This is my first report for Mile 184, Ocean Beach Picnic park. This is an amazing area along our Oregon coast; with tall basalt cliffs, many caves, and rocks of varying sizes. There are rarely people visiting this mile possibly due to the steep entry road. During low tide you can enjoy exploring tide pools, and stretches of the beach that cannot be accessed at high tide time. Other than the plastic pieces in the high tide areas, it is a pristine park to visit.

1 in tack sea star 2 - lesser gulls

Driftline Content

Seaweeds and seagrass, Animal casings (e.g., crab, shrimp molt), Marine debris (plastic, styrofoam, etc. washing in from the sea), Shells, Small rocks, Styrofoam, Wood pieces. There are lots of plastic pieces on this mile. Will pick up as much as I can. Might be a good beach clean up project.
