The large buoy is located in second cave heading North from picnic area. It is caught up in the rocks at base of cave. Will take a number of people to remove. The Nancy Creek is very full and rather deep to cross on beach unless it is low tide.

Temperature: 40 F. Cloud Cover: Sunny. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Wind Direction: N. Tide Level: 1.4 feet.

Other Activities: People enjoying a cool, sunny day. 2 young men from Texas, said how beautiful the Oregon Coast was and they were enjoying clean, uncrowded beaches..

Cars/trucks parking: 3.

Notable Wildlife

lots of Bull Kelp, some in bunches, others alone. A flock of Sanderlings flew by. Many Gulls- mostly Herring. Some fighting over a clump of small round opaque eggs washed up on beach.

Beached Birds

Total dead birds: 4. 2 decayed gulls- not know what type. 2 recently dead Rhinoceros Auklets- adult nonbreeding. Found another a week ago. Is there a problem?

Wrackline Content

Seaweeds and seagrass, Animal casings or molts, Ocean-based debris (from fishing boats, ship trash, etc.), Plastic debri (plastic, styrofoam, etc. washing in from the sea), Shells, Small rocks, Styrofoam, Wood pieces. many plastic pellets. Huge Buoy, attached to a long metal pole. Buoy is pink and has number 4 on it. It is about 5 feet high .

Natural Changes

Landslides/major boulder falls. seems that more rocks fell in entrance of second cave heading North from Picnic area.
