A glorious day on beach watching the amazing migration of birds. The numbers are just unbelievable. have never seen anything like it. Bonaparts Gulls flying just over the waves near shore and out to about a mile. Had my scope so I could see them. Same with loons. All this went on the whole time I was at the beach.

Temperature: 50 F. Cloud Cover: Sunny. Wind Velocity: Strong. Wind Direction: NW. Tide Level: 3.5 feet.

Number of people: 7. Number of dogs: 2. Walking or running: 7. People just enjoying a beautiful sunny day.

Apparent violations: none tis day.

Cars/trucks parking: 4.

Notable Wildlife

Bird migration!! Ocean was a highway for thousands of Bonaparte Gulls, Common, Pacific and Red-throated Loons. Also thing Western Sandpipers. A flock of Brant Geese(30) landed on beach. Also small grouping of Pigeon Guillemots in surf near first cave. Hope they nest there again this year. Many Caspian Terns flying overhead. About 1 every 3-5 minutes.

Beached Birds

Total dead birds: 5. Do not know what they were- too far gone. Just feathers and bones.

Dead Fish or Invertebrates

About 25 or so dead Shrimp on beach.

Driftline Content

Seaweeds and seagrass, Animal casings (e.g., crab, shrimp molt), Marine debris (plastic, styrofoam, etc. washing in from the sea), Shells, Small rocks, Styrofoam, Wood pieces. Picked up some plastic bottles and rope and carried back. Otherwise beach was clear of debris

Natural Changes

It seems as if the second cave still has rock falling from cliff above it.
