Mile 184 - N of Ocean Beach Picnic Area, S of Squaw Creek - April 19, 2016

Report Details

Little human activity on this beach except for a few agate hunters at the north end by Tokatee Klootchman Wayside. The rocky part prevents most people from traversing the entire mile. Very little wildlife evidence in the driftline except for a few Vella Vella. Did not see any seastars whereas last time we saw numerous ones. The rocky part of this mile has great habitat for the seastars and we were surprised that we didn't see any. The Tokatee Stream temperature was 53.2 degrees F. It was a tough scramble over the rocks on the north part of the mile. The tide was not low enough to walk around the rocks.

Natural Changes

Large changes in the rocky area of this beach.

Actions & Comments

We picked up a large bag of trash and also lugged up a jumble of heavy rope. The three objects described earlier were too heavy to move.
