Mile 171 Report
Heceta Beach South, almost to North Jetty
November 23, 2016
For once, I managed to walk this mile between rain showers, instead of during one.
Report Details
For once, I managed to walk this mile between rain showers, instead of during one. Upper beach sand continues to wash away by the higher tides, exposing long-buried driftwood. Lots of mole crab shells this year - were notably absent the last few years. At the north end of the mile, close to the Driftwood Shores resort, a small cluster of "Pyrosomes" have washed ashore. The biggest was about 5" long, 3/4" in diameter. Scattered pieces of Moon jellies along the mile.
