Huge (1000's) concentration of gulls resting in the wet sand south of the Driftwood Shores complex. Major accumulation of palm kelp along the entire mile in the wrack line. Very little human-sourced trash and debris considering the popularity of this beach.

Huge stranding of brownish-red "Pacific Sea Nettle" (Chrysaora fuscescens) and Moon (Aurelia labiata) jellies all along Mile 171 and Mile 172 today.
