Hundreds of Sea Nettle jellyfish washed up at high tide mark all along Heceta beach.Sutton creek at Mile 172, entering the ocean north of Driftwood Shores Resort, is quickly eroding the sand and moving south in front of the homes on Shoreline Drive."Large Stump" that arrived on beach in 2008 is mostly buried now.

Number of people: 15. Number of dogs: 5. Walking or running: 15. Lots of folks,some with dogs on leash enjoying the mild winter weather by walking or jogging.

Apparent violations: Small amount of litter picked up but mostly a nice clean beach in that regard..

Dead Fish or Invertebrates

Unusual concentration. Hundreds of Sea Nettle jellyfish washed in overnight with the tide.

Land-based debris (picnics, etc.), Small rocks, Styrofoam.

Natural Changes

Sutton creek eroding beach and moving south.
