Report Details

There was a significant change in drifting of sand up to the vegetated foredune since my last report. As mentioned there was an unusual abundance of washed up moon jellies and a total absence of sandpipers. The only birds noted were 4 flocks of Western gulls and 3 Heerman's gulls traveling with them.

Temperature: 60 F. Cloud Cover: Sunny. Wind Velocity: Strong. Wind Direction: NW.

Vehicles

ATVs/OHVs on beach, allowed: 20.

Notable Wildlife

Saw no sandpipers,sanderlings as I usually do. Unusually large # of jellies washed up.

Dead Fish or Invertebrates

Unusual concentration. Moon jellies washed up in several locations in great numbers with occasional rust-colored jellies - sorry, don't know the name.

Seaweeds and seagrass, Shells, Small rocks, Wood pieces.
