What we found at mile 161 is a variety of things like birds, clams, and shells. At mile 161 we found 154 live birds or 46% of what we found. We also found 55 barnacles or 16.4% of what we saw. Another common thing you can find at mile 161 is driftwood which is mostly found at high tide areas, we found 28 pieces of wood which is 8.4% out of everything total. We also found 18 shells,(or 5.4%) in a small area along with a LARGE field of shells at a low tide spot. A very interesting thing we found was a lot of was jellyfish. We found around 20-ish jellyfish total but we found 17 moon jellies and 3 blubber jellyfish. We found a lot of clams which are common on a beach around 15 in a medium-sized area. The small increments of stuff we found would be 3 dead birds, a bone, 2 feathers, 2 sea stars, and a hermit crab shell. The ONE nonliving thing we found was trash and microplastics along the wrack line and the high tide area.
