The beach was exceptionally clean, except for two heavy deposits of shells in a small area at the south end of mile 160.

The beach was exceptionally clean, except for two heavy deposits of shells in a small area at the south end of mile 160. The seal looked recently washed up seemed smallish and thin and had been eviscerated.The Siltcoos had moved around a lot in its estuary, rearranging large driftwood stumps and creating a fairly large ox-bow pond.Unusual lack of wild life except for an enormous congregation of gulls at the mouth of the river.

Very windy day and only saw one person on the beach.

It was a beautiful cold windy day.

My mile was actually inaccessible the ponds on either side of the path had grown together and blocked the path at least a hundred yards before the normal little ford I always have to cross It will be a while before that goes down.

My biggest surprise was the lack of trash, I nearly always bring three or four bags of trash off the beach, but not today.

With the effort of many volunteers we collected four heaping pickup loads of trash, including a hot water heater from a five mile stretch
