Mile 153 Report
Oregon Dunes NRA, west of Threemile Lake
November 21, 2015
Beautiful sunny day.
Report Details
Beautiful sunny day. Small waves. Lots of small pieces of wood in the surf line. Unusual to see an eagle in the surf line along with about 5 seagulls. When we were within about 80 feet, it took off and flew inland. Unusual to see a dead duck being pecked at by a seagull - we didn't get close enough to identify the duck. The "tower" at the outlet of the Takenitch Creek has apparently been dismantled and now there is a large sign stating that it marks the end of motorized travel - breeding area for the Plover. Sparrow Park rode remains badly rutted with water coming up to the axles. Slow going even for 4 wheel drive.

A beautiful sunny, windy day for a walk on the beach. Disturbing to see that an ATV had driven from past the north of our mile down to the bottom 1/4 of our mile in the Plover Nesting Protection zone.
