Very quiet observation day.

Very quiet observation day. Beach not littered with shells or casings, seaweed, or pebbles. LOTS of large driftwood all over the beach. Found a metal float - see photo. No markings.Photo shows filling in of fore dune which is typical this time of year. Only a few birds.Our granddaughter's Flat Stanley was visiting, so he came to the beach with us. He had a wonderful time except for almost being blown away - had to rest inside my sweatshirt!

Temperature: 58 F. Cloud Cover: Cloudy. Wind Velocity: Strong. Wind Direction: S. Tide Level: -0.4 feet.
Human Activities
People were coming into the area as we were leaving, but no vehicles at the time of our observation.
Notable Wildlife
Pretty calm day, only a few seagulls, no shore birds, no seaweed.
Dead Fish or Invertebrates
None!
Driftline Content
Ocean-based debris (from fishing boats, ship trash, etc.). Lots of large driftwood near foredune

Very foggy start to the walk, by the time we left the beach it was clear at 10:49am.

A beautiful sunny, windy day for a walk on the beach. Disturbing to see that an ATV had driven from past the north of our mile down to the bottom 1/4 of our mile in the Plover Nesting Protection zone.
