Lovely winter day at the beach, moderate wind from the East contributed to very small waves.

Lovely winter day at the beach, moderate wind from the East contributed to very small waves. Large number of sanderlins on the south end of the mile. Foredunes are typically filled in during the winter and the beach is scoured clean with few plants, lumber, uprooted trees or animal skeletons.Barriers that were up last quarter for the plover nesting area were removed.

Temperature: 50 F. Cloud Cover: Sunny. Wind Velocity: Moderate. Wind Direction: E. Tide Level: 0.3 feet.

Notable Wildlife
About 200 sanderlings on the south end of our mile. Occasional seagulls along rest of the mile.

Very foggy start to the walk, by the time we left the beach it was clear at 10:49am.

A beautiful sunny, windy day for a walk on the beach. Disturbing to see that an ATV had driven from past the north of our mile down to the bottom 1/4 of our mile in the Plover Nesting Protection zone.
