A mild winter day with fog and mist light breeze. Very few seagulls several clusters of sanderlings. Big waves off shore. Previous high tides up to the dunes carrying sand to the face of the dunes. Bull kelp all along the beach. Brown algae bloom.

Temperature: 50 F. Cloud Cover: Foggy. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Wind Direction: NW. Tide Level: -0.4 feet.

4 seagulls, clusters of 6 - 20 sanderlings in surf line, Two clusters of about 50 flying.Large clumps of bull kelp with roots attached, replacing the usual large driftwood.Brown algae bloom.

Total dead birds: 2. 1 guillemont, 1 crow. No signs of injury.

Very foggy start to the walk, by the time we left the beach it was clear at 10:49am.

A beautiful sunny, windy day for a walk on the beach. Disturbing to see that an ATV had driven from past the north of our mile down to the bottom 1/4 of our mile in the Plover Nesting Protection zone.
