Mile 103 Report
Bullards Beach just north of the Lighthouse
May 17, 2015
Calm seas and air and a minus 1.
Report Details
Calm seas and air and a minus 1.4-foot tide made for a lovely outing at 6 a.m. You could mistake the white drifts in the high-tide line for snow--but the stink of bleaching Velella velella quickly changes your mind. They are still incoming but not nearly the previous waves of them. Small rocks, Dungeness molts, litter in the form of hard plastic pieces and at least a dozen plastic drink bottles (two with Asian markings) comprised the driftline. No one else was out on the beach, though one vehicle occupied one of the turnouts.
