Mile 103 Report
Bullards Beach just north of the Lighthouse
June 11, 2014
Once again the dogs and I were the only visitors to this stretch of beach a half mile north of the Coquille River and its lighthouse.
Report Details
Once again the dogs and I were the only visitors to this stretch of beach a half mile north of the Coquille River and its lighthouse. Wildlife was not abundant: a few gulls at water's edge, seabirds flying offshore and swallows flitting about the foredune. Scarcely any litter, and not as much interesting sand mounding from the fierce northerly winds that have plagued us for days on end. Small stones and shell fragments occupied the high line.
Conditions
Temperature: 50 F. Cloud Cover: Sunny. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Tide Level: -1.0 feet.
Notable Wildlife
Sea birds flying offshore, gulls near water, swallows
Driftline Content
Shells, Small rocks.
Actions & Comments
Sand mounding isn't as prevalent as at Mile 102.
