Around 6:30 on a 40-degree, calm morning with a minus tide, nothing much was happening. No birds, no bodies and only a rock hunter and some sand hoppers to report. Sticks, small rocks and plastic litter (bottles and brittle pieces) from the sea marked the drift line. Heading home, I drove by two vehicles parked along the road to the Coquille River Lighthouse.
