Report Details
Heading north from the lighthouse and jetty on a rainy, chilly morning was lonely apart from several whimbrels mining the high line, a few gulls flying over, crows in the upper parking lot and oddly a small bushy tailed squirrel in the woodpile there. Kelp, wood pieces and shell fragments were in the high line, as well as sea-borne litter probably from boaters. Wave erosion in the dunes was evident on much of this mile segment, probably from the winter storms. Logs lay in the grassy areas.
