Report Details
The remarkable thing about the southern half of Mile 102 was the scarcity of wildlife: just a few gulls at water's edge and the ever-present crows. It was a minus 1.4 tide and you could almost reach Table Rock, which is unusual in itself. 2 people walking, one with dog, and 3 vehicles in the parking lot. At 5:15 this cloudy, almost windless day of around 50 degrees, there were kelp, small stones and branches of varied size in the wrack line. And the only evidence of wind action consisted of drifted sand around the on-beach big rocks--quite unlike the northern part of this mile. Litter was only a kid's sneaker and a couple of pieces of Styrofoam.
