A calm morning in the 50s drew 4 folks to the Coquille River Lighthouse beach between 6 and 7 this morning. One was walking two dogs, the others were just heading to the beach. Lots of gravel patches, a few sea palms, scant wildlife: just a cormorant flying by and a gull picking through the dry sand. Two bays were forming well before a negative low tide (-1.1 feet) scheduled for 8:30. There are still driftwood structures on the beach below the upper parking area.
