Summary:
Another beautiful day at Mile 60.sunny after fog lifted. Lite Nw wind, tide coming in. Some plastic, which seem to get worst as I walk south, but still pretty clean of trash. 3 groups of people, 2 runner, 4 walking and 1 solitary agate hunter like me working the gravel beds intermittently down the beach. Bluffs/cliff show new erosion, nothing major, just slow, continuous erosion. No shore birds, a few gulls and one Marsh Hawk. Coots and geese on Floras Lake. No sea mammals.

Long hike on the Oregon Coast Trail from Floras Lake to Blacklock Point. Started at mile 60 and ended at the southern portion of mile 59. Most of the 4 hours was spent on the trail above the beach....
September 8, 2020 - shepherdcd
A smokey, foggy, walk on the beach. Had to shorten the walk due to the smoke. Nothing else of significance.
August 27, 2020 - shepherdcd
No unusual or significant changes. Wide open mostly deserted beach. The group of 11 adults and children at "secret cove" playing in the stream was the largest number of people I have ever seen there.

2016

September 4, 2016 - azbeach
Whale washed up on Lost Beach below cliffs (Floras Lake area).  There were tire tracks leading up to it, which we assumed were from the Beach Ranger.  Looks like this giant may have died at sea and...

Began walk at bridge crossing outlet at Floras Lake. Head for gap in fore dune, wide and high sand beaches. Some beaches had mini sand dunes cut by wave action. A few people on the beach, some...
