Lots of wave action erosion since 2007! See diagram of peninsula. Red signifies are that is missing now since 2007. Very interesting how much chnage has happened. Lots of rolling sand hills with grass got eaten up and shoreline is much smaller there. No threat to humans, homes or other structures.

Number of people: 25. Number of dogs: 3. Walking or running: 25. Photography: 2. Other Activities: just walking. Rather chilly, so most folks were just walking.

Notable Wildlife

Many Snowy Plovers along shoreline

Driftline Content

Seaweeds and seagrass. lots of grass from erosion of shoreline! and (I was told) the oily substance was actually algae - not an oil spill

Natural Changes

Erosion of vegetated foredune, Major cracks appearing in bluffs, Newly exposed roots/trees falling, Evidence of wave overtopping, Visible retreat of solid bluff. tremendous erosion of shoreline from waves, and decrease of peninsula area

Actions & Comments

Just mother nature at work here. Since there is no substantial cliffs or rocks to stop wave action erosion, the peninsula was turned into an island.
