Crisp morning.  3 people, 1 loose dog.  4 dead birds. The pool between Chapman Point and Crescent Beach is almost filled in with sand and easily passable.

Total dead birds: 4. 3 Common Murres all tagged by COASST volunteer, 1 (maybe) Surf Scoter tagged by COASST volunteer.

Wood pieces, Marine debris (plastic, styrofoam, etc. washing in from the sea), Styrofoam.

Natural Changes

During the winter the hillside on the south end of Crescent Beach slid, also the north end of Crescent Beach has slid and cracks have opened up in the hillside. This activity began winter, 2015.

Actions & Comments

Photos have been submitted to the Oregon Parks Department and they are monitoring the activity.

Quite a few people enjoying a Sunday morning walk on the beach at low tide, able to walk to Crescent Beach via the sand bridge by the first Bird Rock.
