Report Details

Gorgeous warm, sunny day with little wind.  Quiet day; only 20 or so people on the beach. Very little trash to be found other than six bags of dog poop, a diaper and a couple pair of child's underwear. Almost no picnic trash. Found a dead ray, a large dead fish (maybe a dolphin), and a wooden pallet on the beach (see attached photos).

Temperature: 60 F. Cloud Cover: Sunny. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Wind Direction: SW. Tide Level: 5.0 feet.

Human Activities

Number of people: 20. Number of dogs: 5. Walking or running: 15. Sitting: 5.

Concerns

Apparent violations: Found six bags of dog poop left on beach..

Cars/trucks parking: 12.

Total dead birds: 2.

Driftline Content

Small rocks, Seaweeds and seagrass, Shells, Animal casings (e.g., crab, shrimp molt), Wood pieces, Ocean-based debris (from fishing boats, ship trash, etc.). Seemed to be more eel grass than in the past. a wooden pallet (see attached photo) had washed up on shore about halfway between Lion Rock and Hug Point.
