Still very much sand, however @ 3 vertical feet lower than in July by the Arch Cape.The razor clams have returned to Cove Beach after an absence of @ 20-25 years!Mussels are off limits along the whole OR coast due to domoic acid presence.A 7 feet long dead Steller's Sea Lion washed ashore. Recently killed by 3-5 bullets. It was reported. A necropsy was done.

200-400 brown pelicans on Bird Rocks, fishing in the surf and some sitting on the beach. A few pelagic cormorants. no murres left,
Stranded Marine Mammals
Total stranded mammals: 1. A large(7 feet) stellar sea lion washed shore (dead)between miles 307 and 306.I reported it and a necropsy was done: 3-5 bullet holes apparently killed the animal.

Beautiful sunny day on the beach with a few pockets of snow from the storm two days ago remaining.

12 sea stars were on the large rock 100 feet south of Arch Cape.
