Report Details
very much sand in Cove Beach at this 0.3 low tide. Trying for razor clams, I mistook the little bubble when I tapped the dimple in the wet sand and scooped up a large female crab with bright red egg sack (sponge).This happened 5 times! No razor clams. (one person had one clam)In each case I could return the crab unharmed, and she quickly dug herself back in.

Temperature: 50 F. Cloud Cover: Cloudy. Wind Velocity: Moderate. Wind Direction: SW. Tide Level: 0.3 feet.
Notable Wildlife
at least 5 female crabs with large red egg "sponges"mistaken for razor clams.Quickly reburied them.

12 sea stars were on the large rock 100 feet south of Arch Cape.
