What a spectacular morning on Rockaway Beach (before the wind kicks up)! The beach is remarkably clean (we'll see what happens after the long 4th of July weekend. People are already shooting off their illegal fireworks, but many people are already down and enjoying our beach!

Temperature: 62 F. Cloud Cover: Sunny. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Wind Direction: NW. Tide Level: 4.8 feet.

Number of people: 80. Number of dogs: 14. Walking or running: 41. Playing in surf: 16. Playing in sand: 19. Sitting: 3. Other Activities: 1 playing in creek. Lots of people on the beach 2 days before 4th of July with beach chairs, buckets and pails, balls, etc.

New Development

Steps down bluff.

Actions & Comments

Sand has blown up and covered portions of some of the eroded areas and riprap along my mile. There are still areas in front of the Rockaway Beach Resort where the riprap has fallen onto the beach.
