Summary:

It was an absolutely beautiful sunny and clear day on mile 291.  Quite a few people were out strolling and playing with their families.  Very little man-made debris. 2 jets flew over and also a Coast Guard helicopter.  I found one bird skeleton, but could not identify it.  I walked the most recent high tide line in one direction and last week's very high tide line on the way back.  Not much to mention in either one.  The very high tide line did have rocks with kelp attached in parts of it.  There was one 55 gallon blue plastic drum up at the high tide line.  It must have been floating for a while, as it had numerous barnacles and mussels growing on it.

  • barrel on beach
A large blue barrel I found at the high tide line
Just north of Shorewood RV park rip rap.
