Report Details

Conditions

Temperature: 64 F. Cloud Cover: Partly Cloudy. Wind Direction: SW. Tide Level: 0.7 feet.

Human Activities

Storefront homeowners at Pine Beach Loop have cut down trees and removed limbs in many others from the bottom to just below a few top branches. This has occurred over a number of years, but has become highly pertinent in the present time, due to their application for a Goal 18 revetment. Having violated Ocean Shore rules, they are now seeking artificial protective measures to remediate their actions which have created additional exposure to more damage from erosion.

Concerns

Apparent violations: OAR 736-023 Statutory Vegetation Line.

Actions & Comments

Submitted public comments opposing their exception application.
