Visiting Camp Magruder and took advantage of free time to walk mile south to Bar View Jetty.

Visiting Camp Magruder and took advantage of free time to walk mile south to Bar View Jetty. Beach was filled with driftwood. Removed two bags of glass beer bottles and plastic water bottles.

Number of people: 6. Number of dogs: 1. Walking or running: 4. Fishing: 2. Storm swell holding tide in. Very few people on beach due to tsunami warnings in news.

Total stranded mammals: 1. Decomposing sea lion about half-way into mile; visible bones, missing head.

Seaweeds and seagrass, Land-based debris (picnics, etc.), Ocean-based debris (from fishing boats, ship trash, etc.), Shells, Small rocks, Styrofoam, Wood pieces. Beer and water bottles, split rope from crab rings.

After this week of flooding and rains, the southern end of my mile is covered in debris washed out of the rivers feeding the Tillamook Bay.

I went out in the afternoon of Earthday which was also beach clean up day.

Lots of dritwood accumulation along the southern portion of mile 290.

Post 4th beach clean up is a yearly clean up I do because the public always leaves a mess behind them.
