There has not been alot of change since my last report.   We have had only one major rain/wind event this fall. This being so, there has been very little debris deposited on the beaches.  I have taken a few photos just for comparison sake.  The steep "bluff" has been filled in with the drifting sands at the S
outhern end of my mile.

  • Oversized Barnacles
    In the driftline about an 1/8 of a mile from the jetty. These and many large crab and mussels were in this area see next photo of the driftline.

  • Drift line contents
    There was a 50' section of the drift line that contained Kelp, large barnacles, large mussels and crab. The crab were intact but appeared to have been dead for a while. This section was approx an 1/8 of a mile from the jetty.

    This is what I picked up along Mile 290. This is the least amount of trash I have collected in a day on mile 290. And yes the solve bag was one of the items I found.

It was one of those rare sunny and almost calm winter days.  Erosion has been less severe than last year.  Overtopping brought more drftwood and sand inland than I have observed in the last 5 years...

Visiting Camp Magruder and took advantage of free time to walk mile south to Bar View Jetty. Beach was filled with driftwood. Removed two bags of glass beer bottles and plastic water bottles.
