Mile 289 Report
September 23, 2012
It was a very pleasant Sunday on Mile 289.
Report Details
It was a very pleasant Sunday on Mile 289. A good number of boats were fishing for salmon both inside and outside the jaws of Tillamook Bay. The lack of man-made debris was remarkable. There was a wide wrack of dried sea grass, but one had to search considerably to find human produced debris. Strong north winds moved a lot of sand recently and beach clean up efforts are the likely cause of this.

I saw so many different types of birds along the jetty, I'm no bird expert but I thought I saw pelicans, herons, cormorants, and sea gulls.
