Report Details

It was a sunny summer solstice on Mile 289. The continuing sand accretion can be documented by the stern section of the wrecked crab boat that has been on the beach since Feb. 2006. It was buried just above the wet sand zone and has remained as a marker. Over the years, it has "moved" closer to the foredune. Now, it is right up to the new growth beach grass. The wet sand zone is 50 to 75 yards to the west.
