Mile 288 Report
November 27, 2004
Beach seemed very clean, with only a little ocean debris in the high tide area.
Report Details
Beach seemed very clean, with only a little ocean debris in the high tide area. Saw few birds including several adult and juvenile Western gulls and small flocks (10-50) of sandpipers flying by.Weather was partly sunny, but windy with observations made near low tide. Little on beach except small stones.
Conditions
Cloud Cover: Sunny. Wind Velocity: Moderate. Wind Direction: NW.
Human Activities
There were 12 cars, vans, SUV's in the parking lot when I arrived, but there were no people on the beach once I got there. Saw some people walking along the gated county road that borders Tillamook Bay, mostly with dogs. This leads to speculation that many people come here to exercise their dogs, with many going for walks along the bay rather than along the ocean beach.
