Report Details

The beach is as pristine as I have ever seen it. There is very little litter and in fact we were not able to fill even one half of a black plastic bag with trash.  It is unclear if the trash from four months ago has been washed to sea or if it has been covered up by sand.   Besides the absence of litter, the most obvious change since my last visit is the abundance of new sand. I estimate  that 3 to 5 feet of new sand has washed ashore since April. Large logs that stuck out from the sand dune in April are now completely buried with new sand. Vegetation  is taking hold on the new sand and may stabilize the beach and prevent erosion in the future.
