Natural Changes:
Landslides/major boulder falls·Newly exposed roots/trees falling·Erosion of vegetated foredune·Visible retreat of solid bluff
Comments:

We have commented on this erosion for years, but what could anyone do, but wait for the North West winds to give upwelling to bring the sand back. For 30 years we could see the glow from crab boats at night now we can see the entire boat, out riggins, lights day and night plus the water they are riding on!The Cape Lookout Sand Spit is getting narrow at our mile and ajoining miles, let's hope it does not breach as it once did. It would close the mouth of Netarts Bay at the north and send the water in the opposite direction eroding the east side of Netarts Bay where the dwellings are.

Summary:

For 30 years we could see the glow from crab boats at night; now we can see the entire boat plus the water they are riding on! The Cape Lookout Sand Spit is getting narrow at our mile and ajoining miles, let's hope it does not breach as it once did.

I saw no human activity on this mile, but there was evidence of lots of erosion from our recent king tides and storms.

Cape Lookout Sand Spit. This mile has lost many feet of sand in height and length to the ocean in the past several years. This mile is now building UP and OUT to the ocean many feet of sand, hurry!
