Cape Lookout Sand Spit. This mile has lost many feet of sand in height and length to the ocean in the past several years. This mile is now building UP and OUT to the ocean many feet of sand, hurry!

Human Activities

Most people do not walk this far from the State Park.

Natural Changes

Erosion of vegetated foredune, Newly exposed roots/trees falling, Evidence of wave overtopping, Visible retreat of solid bluff. It is for now starting to rebuild
