more debris than we could pick up including refrigerator casing. We hauled off ropes and plastic big pieces. Most junk I've ever seen there. Large eroded hollowed out (eroded) area at north end of dune. New signs telling people to not go beyond... dangerous area. Total stranded mammals: 1. a very long dead marine mammal, maybe 8' long, had been fed on so no flesh left on head or neck, about half way between McPhillip Park and the north side of the dune at Cape Kiwanda

Seaweeds and seagrass, Wood pieces, Land-based debris (picnics, etc.), Styrofoam, Ocean-based debris (from fishing boats, ship trash, etc.). large refrigeration casing, we could not remove. Lots of trash. We picked up some but could not get all

Natural Changes

Erosion of vegetated foredune, Visible retreat of solid bluff, Evidence of wave overtopping. dune has a hollowed out area I have not seen before

I wrote to the Cape Kiwanda Natural Area, via their website, to tell them about all the debris and the refrigerator casing.
