My first official report of mile 261 Cape KiwandaFrom viewing the previous King tide action from the week prior on varius other website, I was very cautious of what mile 261 might look like. I have only reported once on this mile in September, so I don't have a lot of history with it. So I leave that to otherers, before me, to look at the photos and deciper the differences.Starting at the North end of the mile, the boat ramp and side ditch really looked damaged and undercut from the previous King Tides. Lots of foam action in the surf zone still. The Wrack zone was made up almoste entirely of wood chips and pieces; no signs of shells or moultings. Noticed a good amount of litter, styrofoam and such, at least more than I'm used to from walking Newport South Beach, mile 214.Lots of scars and cutting scars in the dunes (reminds me of a Dr. Who episode).No beached birds or marine mammals. Four gulls flying. 6 dogs...not on leash. 17 people one who was kayaking.

Wow what a change from last month! State Parking lot is closed for a couple of months while construction on the new parking lot and restroom continues. The tree ( object I show as a measure of sand deposition ) is really getting uncovered! Survey also for COASST, no beached birds or mammals found. The beach access point at the north end of Bob Straub State Park is still unusable for vehicles, due to a massive erosion event and 5 foot sharp edges to the beach.

A lot of winter damage to the foredunes noted. Construction workers working on the new boat ramp and replacing and relocating some drainage pipes. Photos showing bulldozer shift sand by residence. 1 dory and 3 fishermen getting picked up
