Summary:
It was a nice cloudy day with a good wind from the South of about 15-20 miles/hr. Clear skies below clouds - People walking the beach were enjoying the quietness and fun of walking and talking. Had one pickup leaving as I walked up with bed full of collected kelp. Had Jeep leaving as I was leaving - saw no tire tracks on the half of mile 260 not open to vehicles. Did see my first sneaker wave - I got clear, but wife and cousin got wet. Of the four dead birds - three were just remains of feathers - the other - a cormorant - had nothing wrong except the feathers were missing on the neck. The beach was fairly clean with little to no trash. Very little drift wood -lots of Kelp. This was a day after a very high tide and it appears to have cleaned the beach. Saw no destruction of the beach -- man-made or by nature. All-in-all - very enjoyable walk on the beach.
