Report Details

Very large blocks of polyurethane, probably dock flotation, deposited on upper beach, along with several pieces of a small boat, Interesting that they seemed to have come in together. Plenty of evidence of beach erosion on north end of mile, and additional accumulation of logs and small wood. A rope and narrow "gang plank" has been placed about a half mile north of the Nestucca Entrance, apparently for access from above. Will check it later in the year to see how much it is used, and if any erosion is taking place due to human use. It is just below a house on the bluff above. On the mile just south of us, there is a small stream running down the almost upright bluff and onto the beach. It has potential to cause erosion and should be monitored. A pipe extending the stream away from the bluff face would probably be a good remedy. We found that we need a good low tide to access our mile about a month ago when we tried to do so at about a +1 ft. and could not get around a point which seems to be unnamed. It may be Porter Point but on the maps that name is applied to the south Nestucca River Entrance (apparently). The eagle surprised us since it flew in and landed almost right above us in a spruce near the mouth.
